This week, we’ve got a 13-fight card at Boise, Idaho. It’s headlined by Junior Dos Santos vs Blagoy Ivanov, who will be making his UFC debut. DraftKings has smaller contests with this card because it’s just a Fight Night card using lesser known name, but there is still well over $100k to be obtained. I will be chasing my fair share of that money and I hope you guys will be too. Here are a few plays I like this weekend along with my fade of this week.
Cash Game play of the week — Alexander Volkanovski ($9,200)
I believe Volkanovski is the”safest” drama on this card and also his -300 gaming lineup would agree with me. That’s where I’ll be starting my lineup this week and I will figure out the rest from there. Volkanovski averages 116.5 DK points through his first four UFC fights so he’s got a whole lot of upside too. He could potential score more than two other winners on this particular card combined. I do think he’s in drama for GPPs as well for this reason, but he will likely be the most peculiar owned fighter on the card and we don’t care about ownership as much in money games. I’d suggest paying for the costly price tag in your money games and then search for three or more others wins you are confident in.
GPP play of this week — Junior Dos Santos ($8,700)
JDS ought to function as way better striker inside this fight and I think this is where the battle will occur. He could get KO’d in the opening seconds of this fight and score 0 points, but this is what makes him a GPP play in lieu of a cash game play. With these two Heavyweights, we should likely see a KO inside the 25-minues and that I feel the former champion, JDS, are the one to receive it. He’s got good takedown defense so he ought to be able to maintain this battle on the toes where he’ll have a 4-inch reach benefit to work with.
Underdog play of this week — Niko Price ($7,900)
Niko is going to function as underdog drama of the week. The odds demonstrate that the fight should be fairly close and there is a good possibility that he utilizes his wrestling to gain the benefit. In 5 fights he hasn’t seen a decision however, and there is a chance it remains that way if he gets Brown into the floor. Niko includes some slick entrances in his arsenal and a lot of heart. On the feet, Brown likely has the benefit with his achieve, but Cost does have any sneaky power too, which can not be overlooked. All in all, I like this as a GPP play.
Fade of the week — Alejandro Perez ($9,100)
Perez is the 2nd most expensive fighter on this card and he is just $100 less expensive than Volkanovski. In my opinion, Perez will need a end to have a shot at paying that pricey salary and that I do not want to invest in that, personally. He has never landed greater than 1 takedown in a struggle and Wineland has exceptional takedown defense, so we should see this battle take place on the feet. I believe Perez needs to be the person to get his hands raised in the conclusion but I think it will be through conclusion. If that is the case then he could score ~60 points in a win, and at $9.1k that is not likely to win anyone a championship. I’ll be complete fading Perez this week and hoping he doesn’t get the end and he’s my official evaporate of this week.
